Grief Support In These Unsettling Times

These are deeply unsettling, incredibly tumultuous and hopefully transformative times. In times like these, self-care can be particularly hard to come by and hard to access, but now is when it is most important to prioritize connection with oneself.

It is what facilitates the truth in our voices and the courage in our actions. This is a marathon, not a sprint. The change we seek will require ongoing education, advocacy and action. It will require groundedness in truth, respect, openness, power and love.

As individuals and as a collective, we are facing massive upheaval, resulting in layers and layers of complex grief. We are all impacted on mental, emotional, physical and spiritual levels. We have lost the illusion of security and control.

It is unsettling, at times even terrifying. For many of us, there are few (if any) safe, nurturing spaces. There is little or no refuge. We need to come together. We need to support each other. We need to lift one another up. We need to offer each other what we have to give.

"We need to offer each other what we have to give."

To that end, I’ve been wondering how best to contribute to the necessary change and support those most profoundly impacted by the tremendous upheaval.

I’ve got a few bases covered - doing my inner work on an ongoing basis, educating myself and my family and friends with appropriate guidance and humility, amplifying others’ powerful and beautiful voices, speaking the truth of my own awareness and supporting others in finding theirs, contributing time/money/energy to communities and organizations supporting social justice and spiritual wellbeing, etc. But it really hasn’t felt like enough, so I’ve continued wondering what more I can do to contribute.

"It finally occurred to me - I know what my gifts are; I know how I can serve: I can offer my PsychoSpiritual support wherever it may be valuable, regardless of one’s ability to pay."

My background is in social work and spiritual counseling. My experience is broad, though current employment focuses on end of life care, particularly complex grief. I have a unique knack for nurturing folks of all ages and backgrounds through transformational grief journeys, healing life-long mental health and family dynamic issues along the way. And right now, we're experiencing a collective grieving and healing process that broaches the core of each of our souls.

Here’s a link to my bio if you want to get a feel for my context: Throughout the website there are also valuable and accessible resource that may be of help. If any of this resonates, and you’d like to learn more, please feel free to message me directly and we can set up a time to connect.

I can only do so much, but I figure if I do a little, and others do a little, we’ll end up looking back down the road and realize that together we’ve done a lot. Let’s empower each other and heal together! Pass it on; pay it forward....
